Jamison played college football at the University of Cincinnati and played twelve seasons in the National Football League, mainly with the Detroit Lions. Previously, he played in the USFL for the Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars for two seasons. After the USFL he played from 1987-1993 with the Detroit Lions, then played 1994-1996 with the Kansas City Chiefs and then finished his career from 1997-1998 with the Detroit Lions. For his career he played in 162 games, made 585 total tackles, 20.5 sacks, 9 interceptions, two that he returned for touchdowns and recovered 12 fumbles, one that he returned for a touchdown. His best season came in 1991 where he had 86 total tackles, 4 sacks and 3 interceptions and helped the Detroit Lions get to the NFC Championship game.
