Ron Rice played college football at Eastern Michigan, where he earned four letters at Eastern Michigan. Played in 40 games, with 38 starts and ended his collegiate career ranked sixth on the school’s all-time tackle list with 325 (second on career list with 187 solo tackles), and intercepted eight passes in his career.
Rice was signed and an undrafted rookie free-agent in 1995 and became a starter by the end of the 1996 season. Rice end up playing in 79 total games over his career and his 546 total tackles 9th all time in Detroit Lions team history. He also had 12 interceptions and 6.5 sacks over his career.
